Our All-Middle-Schools Read!

If you would like to participate in the PTO's book order to support Mr. Cochrane's visit to Stony Brook and Blanchard Middle Schools in October, you may download a copy of the order from the link below; orders are due Wednesday, June 6.  You may also, of course, order books through Barnes and Noble, Amazon and local bookstores such as Willow Books in Acton - as well as an e-reader copy if it will encourage your child to read the book!

All-Middle School Read Announced!

We are pleased to announce the Mr. Mick Cochrane, author of The Girl Who Threw Butterflies, will visit Blanchard and Stony Brook Middle Schools on Thursday and Friday, October 18 and 19, 2012 respectively. Students are asked to read The Girl Who Threw Butterflies prior to his arrival in mid-October. Students will also be participating in activities in school during the fall that involve the book in anticipation of his arrival, and students may write a short essay if they are interested in working on a "Writing Workshop" with Mr. Cochrane. Over the summer, students are encouraged to visit this website to engage in conversation and respond to blog posts about the book. There will be a book order, with proceeds going to help support the PTO, which is funding Mr. Cochrane's visit this year.
